This entry came up when my bestie,Monica Dian is a litlle "lost" when she want to make a dress, so she asked me to write an entry about the names of the gown.

1. Ball Gown
A ball gown is the most formal female attire for social
occasions. It is traditionally a full-skirted gown reaching the floor,
made of luxurious fabric

2. Bouffant Gown
A bouffant gown is a women's dress silhouette made of a wide, full skirt resembling a hoop skirt (and sometimes including a hoop or petticoat support underneath the skirt). It may be tea length (mid-calf length) or floor length.

3. Cocktail Dress

The sheath style evening gown, like the usual sheath dress is designed to fit the body tightly. It is generally unbelted, and has a
straight drape. It can have shoulder straps or be strapless
B. Mermaid Dress
Mermaid, as the name suggests, means that the evening gown is shaped
like a mermaid. It is form-fitting at the bodice, and the skirt is
designed to resemble a mermaid's tail in silhouette. The skirt may or
may not be of the same colour or texture.
C. A-line Dress
The A-line style evening gown is somewhat bell-shaped, it is
close-fitting at the top and widens gradually at the bottom, without
gathers or pleats. This makes for a simple but elegant appearance.
D. Trumpet Dress
If the evening gown is trumpet shaped, it is tight-fitting until it reaches the knees, where it flares.

E. Empire Dress
If the evening gown is trumpet shaped, it is tight-fitting until it reaches the knees, where it flares.
F. Dropped Waist Dress
The waistline is dropped below the actual waistline. The skirt can be fitted or flared.
G. Princess Dress
The princess style evening gown is also tight, cut in single pieces,
such as gores, and hanging in an unbroken line from shoulder to flared them.
7. Gymslip Dress
a sleeveless tunic most commonly worn as part of a girl's school uniform
8. Jumper Dress
A jumper dress
is a sleeveless, collarless dress intended to be worn over a blouse, shirt or sweater.
9. Maxi Dress
a long dress, often ankle length
10. Mini Dress
a short dress with a high hemline
11. Night Dress
worn as nightwear, which may come in a variety of styles
12. Shift Dress
a short, sleeveless dress in a simple style with little detailing

19. Peplum Dress
A ruffle or flared section in the construction of a jacket or blouse
that extends a short distance below the waistline. Peplums may be sewn
to the bodice, cut in one with the bodice, or may be a separate section
attached to a belt.
